Speed Reading Myths

Before I start with the myths... you need to know the truths. Speed reading is awesome. I believe it's going to be the next big thing. You should learn how to speed read as soon as possible. Regular reading is costing you hours and hours a week. Anyone who's stuck reading slowly will be ridiculed in the future. Either that, or they'll be looked down upon. Either way, speed reading will be a big deal once it gains a little more popularity in the mainstream.

BUT... it's not going to happen very quickly.

First, a classic move for any new trend, dispelling myths.

Speed reading does not reduce comprehension. In fact, slow reading reduces comprehension. The slower you read, the harder it is for the information to be processed clearly. Compare it to how difficult it is to understand someone who is speaking extremely slowly. By the time the person finishes explaining something, you may have forgotten how he began talking. The very same concept applies when reading.

Speed reading does not take years to learn. Speed reading is a concept that can easily be taught in under an hour. As soon as you figure it out, you can double your reading speed right away.

Speed reading software is not necessary for learning how to speed read. As I mentioned in the previous point, speed reading is a concept. You don't need to install something on your computer just to understand a concept and begin applying it. Speed reading can be explained in many ways - including just plain writing.

And I've saved the best for last...

Speed reading is not a myth. There are probably billions of people who have either never heard of speed reading, or they don't believe it works anyway. But speed reading is real. Speed reading works.

If you're still reading everything slowly, then stop wasting your time! Start speed reading today.

Everyone should learn how to speed read.

Fluent speed reading always reminds me of water. Clear, flowing, and it can really be beautiful.
